Marriage (Nikah) Services
NIMFA acts as a trusted facilitator for the solemnisation of Islamic marriages (Nikah) for couples
within the Belfast and wider Northern Ireland community.
To book a Nikah:
- Both the bride and groom must be present and provide valid photo identification.
- The presence of the bride's Wali (guardian) is required.
- Two adult, reliable Muslim witnesses must attend the ceremony.
- Agreement on the Mahr (dowry) must be established prior to the ceremony.

Bereavement & Janazah Support
Losing a loved one is an incredibly difficult time. NIMFA provides comprehensive, compassionate
support to families to ensure the deceased is treated with dignity according to Islamic teachings
(Sunnah).
- Ghusl & Shrouding: We provide facilities, volunteers, and necessary supplies
(coffins/shrouds) for the ritual washing and shrouding of the deceased.
- Janazah Prayer: We facilitate the congregational funeral prayer after the daily
prayers at the center.
- Burial Organization: We offer advice and signposting for communicating with
local authorities, coroners, and Islamic burial plots in the region.
- Pastoral Care: We provide spiritual counseling for grieving families.

New Muslims & Shahada
If you are exploring Islam or have decided to embrace the faith, the NIMFA community welcomes you
with open arms. We offer a calm, supportive environment for non-Muslims and new reverts.
- Taking the Shahada: Our Imam can guide you through the declaration of faith
(Shahada) privately or with the congregation—completely at your comfort level. A formal
certificate of Shahada can be issued upon request, which is often needed for Hajj/Umrah travel.
- Revert Support Network: We host regular halaqas (study circles) focused on the
absolute basics of prayer, fasting, and living as a Muslim in Northern Ireland.
- Mentorship: We strive to connect new brothers and sisters with supportive
community members who can assist them in their journey.
